Just had the craziest thing happen on my way to the supermarket! I was waiting for the bus, and this old lady with a bunch of grocery bags starts walking towards me. She trips and falls right in front of me, and all her groceries go flying everywhere 😲 I helped her up, and we started picking up her stuff together. She was so grateful and kept thanking me, but I was just happy she wasn't hurt. We got to talking and she told me she was a widow and lived alone, and that she always did her grocery shopping on Fridays. She seemed like such a sweet lady, and it made me sad to think of her living by herself. Anyway, I ended up carrying all her groceries to her house for her, and she invited me in for a cup of tea. We had a great conversation, and she even gave me some of her homemade Alfajores (they were delicious btw 😋)! It's funny how life works sometimes. I started the day just running some errands, and ended up making a new friend. Just finished making some traditional sopa paraguaya for dinner 🍲. My grandma taught me how to make it, and every time I do, it reminds me of home. She would always say "la sopa tiene que estar bien pilosa" (the soup has to be really thick). I put my own twist on it, adding some cheese on top 🧀. It's not the same without it!
